There is an extensive variety of articulating lifts available. There is practically a style of lift to fit each and every application, circumstance and work place. There are certain manufacturers who specify in lifts for dangerous settings including underground tunnel situations, petro-chemical plants, and other venues where there is a risk of dust or explosive gases, for instance in grain-processing plants.



Some lifts have been mounted to big flatbed trucks or onto the back of pickup trucks or onto trailers. There are models that incorporate articulating booms which can be self-propelled and are controlled by the lift operator, whereas others can pivot 360 degrees.



There are lift models designed particularly for outdoor and indoor use, and come in 2-wheel and 4-wheel powered models. In some situations, the platforms are adjustable and some types of lifts have baskets where the employee stands. These platforms or baskets are adjustable and enable the employees to remain level or swing into place, depending on what the operator should complete the task. There are some platforms and baskets that come wired so as to allow the operator to plug tools in as required.
