Classifications of Aerial Lift Platforms & Scissor Lifts
Aerial platforms and scissor lifts allow workers to work on elevated structures as they could get to a lot of objects and structures. These lifts offer friendly user controls that enable to operate the the platform independently from the base. This allows the machinery to get around objects. There are lots of lift designs available that are suitable for particular applications and settings.
Scissor Lift
The scissor lift utilizes a series of crisscrossed linked steel arms. These arms are designed to create an X patterned support system when the lift is raised vertically. Workers utilize a large rectangle platform which is connected to the top of the lifting device. There are support railings along the edges to provide added safety.
Scissor lifts are ideal for pavement, compact and hard dirt surfaces and concrete as they feature a low profile. These machinery utilize either a combustion engine or an electric motor to power the lift and the lifting mechanism.
Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
Rough terrain scissor lifts use the same technology as the standard kind of scissor lift. The rough terrain model differs in that it features a specific base which is designed for surfaces that are uneven. The rough terrain even provides all terrain oversized tires and a higher ground clearance. These units provide lower lifting heights overall due to the higher center of gravity of the equipment.
Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift provides a telescoping beam that rises both diagonally and vertically. This machinery provides a small work platform outfitted with controls to operate the boom. The controls utilize a combustion or an IC engine in order to power the hydraulics and lift the boom.
Articulating Boom Lift
An articulating boom lift has two telescopic booms which are attached with a moving elbow. This lifting machinery provides a small work platform or a bucket outfitted with hand controls which are utilized to control the boom. The articulating lift is capable of reaching over things and on top of buildings.
