Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Some lift trucks are especially made to fit down very narrow aisles inside a warehouse. These units are known as narrow aisle lift trucks. They can easily negotiate smaller aisles and allow you to enjoy some advantages. Like for example, the increased amount of space to store objects could really increase the overall available inventory of a business.
The narrow aisle forklift is manufactured to maneuver quite easily, because they are engineered particularly to operate in confined spaces. Their different design has eliminated many of the things that are squished up into the main body of the conventional lift truck design.
These lift trucks are very slow compared to regular lift trucks that is among their main disadvantages. If you have to transport objects across large areas, the narrow aisle lift truck is not the best. When it comes to speed they would not be a reliable option. If you also have a standard lift truck, this would not be a problem. You could simply use the narrow aisle forklift to transport the load to a central place and after that hand it off to a standard forklift which could travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient way. Usually, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they would not be very effective.
Electric Lift Trucks
Traditional gas forklifts are not a suitable option for indoor use such as warehouses or stores. They would not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or helpful compared to an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are normally engineered to function and look a lot like gas ones, but they utilize electric batteries that must be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered forklift has become more common and for a range of reasons. These equipment could help businesses save expenses on fuel. Electric models would first cost more, but will ultimately save you more over time. For example, when gas prices increase, you will save a lot of cash as you would not be affected. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered units as well. This is partially because of the fact they are mostly utilized indoors and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric models are healthier to use in badly ventilated places like indoor applications and warehouses because they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be extremely dangerous to use diesel or gas lift trucks inside.
Among the major downsides to electric lift trucks is the fact they can generally only work for one 8 hour shift before the battery has to be charged for another shift. Many companies get around this condition by purchasing an extra battery so they can have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market that are also minimizing the charging time.
