Daewoo Dual Fuel Forklifts Long Beach

Daewoo Dual Fuel Forklifts Long Beach

Basic Fuel Types of Forklifts

Powered lift trucks called forklifts are used in almost every industry to move heavy items and materials. The forklift is a very tough and dependable machinery that has become important tools in many construction and warehouse environments. Lift truck models differ depending on the kind of work environment and the kind of fuel which is used to power the lift truck.

Electricity

Electric powered lift trucks are great for indoor settings, or in sites with limited ventilation because they produce no exhaust fumes. They are designed with industrial strength batteries. Because the electric lift truck batteries require charging, the worksite should have a charging station. The batteries are tough and can be re-charged up to 1,500 times before they have to be replaced. The charging station should be located in a ventilated area and include an acid spill kit and an emergency eyewash station.

Propane

Liquid propane powered forklifts are frequently used in modern industrial applications because propane has some advantages over electric and diesel. Propane models are cleaner to operate than diesel-powered units. There is no down time needed to recharge an industrial battery, and the cost of electricity is more than the cost of propane. A lift truck propane tank can be easily and quickly refueled by changing out the empty tank with a full tank. Typically an off-site supplier refills the empty tank, making refueling really efficient and safe.

Gasoline and Gas

Gasoline and Diesel forklifts are the machine of choice for outdoor applications and rough terrain. They are normally found on lumber yards and construction sites. Their disadvantages include relatively high maintenance requirements, odorous exhaust and relatively high fuel costs. Their advantages comprise a longer lifespan than other units and dependability in tough conditions. Diesel and gasoline units will have to be refueled at a supply station on site which meets safety and health regulations.
