Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Long Beach

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Long Beach

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also referred to as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized to move products and supplies around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care to avoid loss of control while raising heavy loads. Equipment should be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle can turn smoothly. The pallet should be stacked carefully in order to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.

In order to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be in the middle to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Pull on the handle and then drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is really not safe to push the pallet in front of you as the thrust could cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Gradually come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
