Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names including: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machinery as they pick up and transport loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment made specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can function in smaller aisles. They are very useful pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
